Des Lau - Director
The recurring theme on this website is Hong Kong, where Des Lau was born and raised. A place that he holds dearly and influences him immensely through its energy, cultural diversity and work ethics.
Starting his career in IT, Des has worked for some big corporations in various roles, with vast experience in technical support to 3rd line levels, project management to project executions and elite support of board level personnels.
From private equity management firms, energy conglomerate to the public sector in the NHS, Des has a wide range of experience in both public and the private sector being fully au fait with both working cultures. His technical abilities were gained through years of practically working in challenging corporate environments and professional qualification, adhering always to the mantra that good customer relationship is paramount in working with people at all levels.

In 2012, Des was presented with an opportunity to learn the restaurant trade. This was both in the art of cooking Chinese cuisine and in the management of a busy family restaurant with a view of eventually owning a business. This was the beginning of a new journey into the restaurant trade that sparked a second passion of his career that was dominated by IT previously. He embraced the change and learned with a "diving head first" attitude. He became fully proficient in the cooking and management of a business within 2 years. It is from here that he leaves IT, bought a business and managed to successfully run a Chinese Restaurant as head chef and co-owner for 10 years.
